Rocket Ship!

I rarely post photos on my blog but today is an exception.
I was at brunch with some friends (Jamie, David and Doni) who I used to work with at Microsoft this morning at Stopsky's Deli on Mercer Island. When asking for a latte they asked me if I wanted a certain type of art in the foam on top like a heart or something. I said I didn't want a heart but if they could make a rocket ship instead, that would be very cool.
And guess what? That's exactly what I got in my coffee. It was totally awesome and here's the picture of it! Thanks to David who took the picture on his cell phone!

These are pix from Artopia in Georgetown on Saturday. It's south of Seattle next to Boeing field. Tons of people but not many cool photo opportunities...good times. I biked 10 miles on Saturday before going and then did more on Sunday. Brunch on Sunday with Microsoft friends. We all talked for about 5.5 hours.

Sunday Kayaking!

Wow, what a busy weekend.
I had a physical at my doctor's office on Saturday. Worked on new art for my graphic novel. Went to a friend's birthday party.
Sunday I had some errands to take care of after waking up to a huge allergy attack. Swollen face, itchy mouth and nose, lots of snot and sneezing...
Then there was fun kayaking on Lake Washington with my friends Karisma and Jamie. We went out for Thai food after three hours on the lake and Cedar River. I met a very nice woman when I was coming out of the river. Thanks for the sweet smile Amanda and the nice conversation.
More art next posting and it will be sooner!

Fun ROBOTS!

While I'm sitting here on a dark, rainy, cold, Saturday morning,... thought I'd post a fun illustration for a game I worked on over at MS research a year and a half ago. That was a fun team and it was great to work with everyone there. I'm working for a fun team these days as well, and a fun game that I can't say anything about right now. I'm hoping for a bit of clearing in the skies here in the PNW but I'm doubtful that will happen. But if it does, I'm going bike riding and maybe kayaking!!!
Instead, I'll most likely be working on my graphic novel, which has so much more to go.

Another summer rerun...

Avert your eyes!!! I'm not talking about my art here I'm talking about the election year snipping! Instead, stop by my blog every week and see and NEW (to your eyes) image from my past career. This week is something I did for spec for a publisher about a book that I was going to write and illustrate. It was about 10 years ago and I still think it's kinda cool. I may get back to that story yet. It's finally summer up here in the PNW and I'm going kayaking in a little bit, but I'll be posting more this week. Hope you are enjoying the weather while it's here and not paying attention to anything else but my occasional posting.
