New color painting! KIRBY!!! (AROK!)

This is for the Jack Kirby show that's coming up in August. I always loved the way he visually told stories made with crazy bold graphics. This one is taking an extra creature from an old comic book and painting it up in Photoshop while keeping the bold designs that Kirby created.
I wanted to do something more complicated but I've got many other projects that need my attention right now so this one will have to suffice.

More post SCBWI 2013 photos...

I just happened upon the set up for the opening night of Disney's Planes movie... which I think everyone has forgotten about already.

Side trip to Hollyweird...

This was part of the side trip to Hollywood, after the SCBWI conference was over. It was fu to visit the old haunts again.

First leg of vacation photos... Multnomah Falls!

This is east of Portland, Oregon. I climbed to the top to put my hands in the stream that feeds the falls. It was an hour up the mountain. Great fun!

Elvis Costello at the Winery August 2009

Very blurry pix from my cell phone because I forgot my digital camera! I tried. August 23rd (my birthday) 2009 at the Chateau Ste. Michele in Woodenvile WA. Would have been an awesome show if he wasn't doing the country music thing. Oh well, next time.

New Abstract: "Earthly Delights"

Another new Abstract for August 2009. This one was done very late last night when my eyes were very heavy and bags drew my face down along with my head to where I was in a bit of a slumpy posture. I'll try not to do that the rest of this week. This image is a bit dark but the color brightens up the landscape here and there.
Hope you enjoy!
See you next post.

Concept sketches...

From a previous gig. I can't say anything about this for a while but this never made it anywhere near the project. More concept sketches will be posted in the future. Stay tuned for that. If you have sun where you live,... please send some to the Seattle area cause it looks a lot like November here. Thanks.
See you next post.

More Graphic Novel sneaks...

Three pages of sketches from the early part of the graphic novel. I just started the 4th volume of sketches for the graphic novel and will crank on this volume for most of August,... in between the bike riding and kayaking... LOL! Hope your summer is going well!

It's freakin' August already and I still haven't gone to the islands...
Keep enjoying this summer!

The Doodle Book, goes to print!

I've finished designing a putting together my NEW book and it should be out on the bookshelves by end of August/early September. It's called "The book of Doodles" which is a collection of doodles I've done over the last 5 or so years in meetings, conferences, Doctor's offices, and any other place where one could fall asleep trying to either pay attention or just make it through till the end of the boredom. I'll post the exact date of release at a later date but stay tuned and I hope you can get yourself a copy and delight in the fun of The Doodle Book!
