Graphic Novel preliminary sketches...

This sketches date back over a year to when I first started the graphic novel. I was trying to find a starting place and these were some ideas I thought of for a starting point. One of them made the final cut. Can you guess which one? I'm now on page 172 and counting. Should be at least another 150 pages of work or so... I'll post more as time goes by this summer with actual finished pages some time in the fall. Stay tuned. Hope you had a great weekend like I did. Sunny and warm,... just as I like it!

Hail and welcome President Obama!! YAY!!!!

It felt so great to get a new president today. I can now honestly say I'm a fan of the president.
These two illustrations of President Obama are from Drew Friedman, a terrific artist. I'll just be showing them this week and then they will be off my blog. I try to not do art that is tied to a certain time period, so I stay away from doing public figures. Enjoy.
Hey Bush, don't let that door hit,... oh hell I hope it slams into you on your way out of the door.
Perhaps now we can prepare to put the whole Bush administration in prison for high crimes and take all their money away and give it to the national treasury. That would be a good start!

Brand new painting!!

New Year, New Painting!!!
I'm not a big sports fan anymore. I don't follow any of it these days but my favorite was always baseball. Slow, relaxing, have a beer and chill type of sport. And I was good at playing it.
I picked this image from one of my sketchbooks that I thought would be nice in a blue tint with the foreground full color. I think it turned out well.
I have a couple of other new paintings but this is the most recent one. Finished it a week ago.
Enjoy and make 2009 a great year!

VOTE!!!!

Last day to think about it all. I hope everyone has figured out who they are voting for, if not, then hit the internet and find out what's keeping you from making a decision! Let's turn this country around to a better course. The last 8 years have been pretty bad! Time for NEW blood and doing things to help this country!
