New Color painting "Xmas Circus"
I thought of it as a stage play/picture book with a grinch character (not the grinch). Showing how crazy the season can be. If any publishers are interested... I'm ready to write the story.

This is a recent ink drawing before I started in on doing more Christmas art... which I will be posting soon. Glad to be back.

New drawing!
I've been having problems with my blog site as of late so I haven't been able to upload new drawings, paintings, etc...
I think I've finally got it working well. I'm posting the first of several Halloween drawings. They are all I've got time to do this year. I wanted to paint some of the ones from last year, which I will do at some point, just not right now. Too busy with actual work that is paying good money. So stay tuned for more Halloween fun this week! BOO!

My art in a show in San Francisco Aug 8th!
I just got confirmation that they got my art that I shipped off on Monday for the "The Murray Affair: A Bill Murray Art Tribute in San Francisco on Friday! Woo-hoo!!!
Wish I could be there in person! Here's the art that I sent to the show:
I did this art back in the late 80s... before the internet. I had an art studio in Los Angeles on Wilshire Blvd (the 5455 building, which used to be a turquise and is now jet black) several blocks east of the LACMA and LaBrea Tar Pits. I had just done some work for Paramount on "Coming to America"... the director took me on the stage of Star Trek the next generation, so I got to see the sets and what they were made of, which came as a bit of a shock to me, even though I had been on sound stages and knew how they put together movies. The director asked me to do a Star Trek illustration for lunch boxes and also to do a Bill Murray painting. He didn't say what he wanted to do with the Bill Murray painting (color pencil on top of wash.) but I got to keep the original.

New Drawing!: "Lunar Patrol"
I haven't been doing much in the way of painting this summer. It's hard to stay indoors when it's so nice outside. So I end up taking my sketchbook somewhere and draw for several hours instead. Painting to commence once the summer time is over.

New color painting! KIRBY!!! (AROK!)
This is for the Jack Kirby show that's coming up in August. I always loved the way he visually told stories made with crazy bold graphics. This one is taking an extra creature from an old comic book and painting it up in Photoshop while keeping the bold designs that Kirby created.
I wanted to do something more complicated but I've got many other projects that need my attention right now so this one will have to suffice.

New Business Cards!
Got the first batch of new cards in the mail today… Nicely done by VistaPrint. I'm trying out several different printers to see how they stack up with price, quantity and quality. So far, VistaPrint is a good deal and the color looks spot on. $20 for both sides… 250 cards. Good deal!
Here is the down side of printing through VistaPrint… they throw all kinds of offers at you after you finish your order. Add ons… continuation deals, subscriptions… all kinds of stuff. But in the end, it was just a few extra minutes of your time to make sure that nothing else was added to your order and then you end up with great looking cards.
