The day after Xmas!

You KNOW Santa's all worn out the day after Xmas,... time for dinner with the family. Hope everyone had a great Xmas! Myself,... it was nice and relaxing,... having some extra time to kick back and enjoy the season and work on some of my other stuff. I'll have some new paintings posted soon and I hope to have the first section of my graphic novel up on a site for everyone to start reading. I've been drawing it and re-writing it for the last 8 months. It will most likely take another year to finish. Send me any comments.
By the way....

Get 'em while they're hot ladies and gents! My NEW Art Calender, which features art from my latest Art Book: Monito Hermoso is on sale for the next month at this site:

SNOW day!

I did this one about 10 years ago for a kids magazine. Since I've been stuck inside for the last 5 or 6 days I thought it appropriate image to post. Hope you are getting out and about where ever you are!

Need a Holiday Gift?

Two great gifts for the artistic person on your list or for someone who just likes fun stuff! Your choice of either the Monito Hermoso Calendar which will keep you up to date on all the important times in 2009,... or the lovely and witty Monito Hermoso Book, from which the calendar gets it's images. Be safe and sane for the holidays and if you are snowed in like I am,... take a flight to somewhere warm and sunny! (I keep telling myself the snow will melt eventually but it keeps on snowing damnit!)
Happy Holidays everyone!

Santa's Trippin'!

I don't think I had this one on the site last Xmas when I penciled it on the way back from Denver so here ya'' are! I'm actually thinking of a story to work on for this sketch. Maybe a new kid's picture book in the future. I've got to finish this graphic novel and another picture book that I've written after that, before I can start on a new one. Plenty of book ideas!!!!
In the mean time, I'm looking to spend the holidays working on the graphic novel, eating with friends and sleeping. The weather these last few days has made me very tired in the evening and haven't got much done lately. I also have a friend in town this week for cancer treatments and we are planning to live it up this weekend! Whoo-hoo!!
See you next post!
Enjoy the season!

Santa's elephant in the room dream...

I'm sure the old guy is tired at the end of a long Xmas season and he's got issues that haven't been addressed, hence the elephant. This year give Santa a break and help the economy and buy some stuff. Look for the next installment of the Xmas images! Enjoy the season!

Santa's missing 7 minutes of tape....

This is a painting I did for Los Angeles magazine back in the day. They wanted me to do a version of the great old Haden Sundblum coca cola art and that's what they got. I had a blast doing this painting. Notice one of the elves is Spock (Leonard Nimoy) reading into a microphone. He's done a fair amount of books on tape (Now CDs) and was featured in the article. It was a two page spread. A nice showcase for me in those days.
Stay tuned for more Xmas Art over the next few weeks leading up to the last holidays of the year.
Hope you are enjoying the season.
